BALTIMORE, MD -- (March 29, 2011) –Violent youth crime – its cause and control – will be the focus of Coppin State University’s 9th Annual Criminal Justice Day Symposium scheduled on campus, April 5-6, 2011, 9:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. daily.

Symposium activities will be held in the 2nd Floor Atrium of the University’s Talon Center. They include an opening address by Coppin’s President, Dr. Reginald S. Avery, and 12, 30-45-minute panel or individual discussion sessions centered on “… what’s working, what’s not working, and what should be working.” in the area of youth crime prevention.

“Through this year’s event, we seek to use a holistic approach … to examine factors that do (or) should reduce crime, violence, rage, and aggression among youth of the Baltimore community, thus paving the way for a … safer community, said Dr. Concetta Culliver, Coppin professor and symposium coordinator.
